The Tri-Phase is the most advanced and versatile module in our product line.  The module utilizes a triad of operating parameters that enable the user to select their desired performance level.  The Tri-Phase functions by intercepting sensor outputs, modifying them, and outputting them to the vehicle's onboard computer.  The Tri-Phase module is also compatible with most popular performance upgrades such as aftermarket intake, exhaust, and ignition systems, low boost forced induction systems, lightened and/or underdrive pulley kits, grounding kits, and many others.  We strive to achieve the highest standards of quality, while maintaining the best horsepower per dollar ratio in the industry.  Simply put, Next Level performance modules are the best "bang for the buck" you will find.

Fuel Curve Basics

Air/fuel ratios in modern automobiles are regulated by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU).  Most factory ECUs are set to maintain a 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio; this is known as a stoichiometric fuel mix.  This mix is a balance between power and fuel economy, which is what most automobile buyers are happy with.  In general, leaning out the air/fuel ratio will cause a power loss and fuel economy gain; conversely richening the air/fuel ratio will cause a slight (usually less than 1/2 mpg) reduction in fuel economy and an increase in power.  Generally the air/fuel ratio must remain between 13:1 and 17:1 to remain efficient, any leaner and the engine will be starved for fuel, any richer and the engine will not be able to combust all of the fuel causing inefficiency.  Our modules increase performance by adjusting these ratios between 13 and 14.7, the more performance oriented fuel curves.  Spark timing is also adjusted accordingly.

About the Tri-Phase

The Tri-Phase enhances performance in multiple ways.  First, it modifies signals being read by the ECU, causing an adjustment to the fuel curve, which is what creates the increase in horsepower and torque, as well as improves throttle response and shift speed.  When the ECU sees these modified signals it provides a different set of fuel and ignition maps than it would under factory operating conditions.  A second feature of the Tri-Phase is it's "High-Heat Signal Correction."  In short, when the engine compartment heats up, some sensors that relay pertinent fuel curve contingent information to the ECU begin to lose accuracy due to heat absorption into the sensor.  The ECU then reads these incorrect signals, and leans out, or otherwise incorrectly alters the fuel curve, which hampers performance.  These errors cannot be corrected from within the computer, there must be an independent unit to correct these errors.  The Tri-Phase is designed to automatically compensate for these signal errors.  Additionally, our easy to follow, step-by-step instructions will allow you to get your module installed in about 20 minutes, even if you don't have any mechanical experience.

Tri-Phase vs. G-Box Comparison

One of the key differences between the Tri-Phase and G-Box Series modules is versatility.  The "+" setting on the Tri-Phase will yield gains roughly equal to that of the G-Box.  The "++" setting utilizes our most aggressive set of operating parameters ever (even more aggressive than the G-Box Gold Series).  The "++" setting will yield the highest gains of all of our modules, however it may require premium fuel for use.  The Tri-Phase may also be turned completely off, which is very beneficial to users who are subjected to emissions testing during inspection.  In the "Off" position the vehicle will perform as it would from the factory (or if other modifications are present, it will perform as it did prior to installing the Tri-Phase).  All of our modules are a great "bang for the buck" and one is not necessarily better than the other, the application chosen primarily depends on the user's performance objectives.
